Medietas

Steve woke up in a floating ship in October of 2016 on the floating islands of Medietas fresh from being dragged out of the Potomac, half-drowned and suffering from injuries after the fight with Bucky. Not exactly where he wanted to be, but he was just a tiny bit stuck. And apparently had been there already? But lacked the memories of that time, unfortunately. He was placed on Mundus, full of trees and rocks, perfect for a city boy and was given the key to an art gallery that he had owned the last time he was there.

He had employees and a business, and Steve's never one to back down from a challenge. So, he decided to use his time on the islands to stay busy as there wasn't anything to do but workout and draw. He wasn't needed to punch anything, having missed the dragons and rabbits, and not like he can keep islands from falling.

But then he had Peggy Carter arrive, fresh from her adventures in keeping his blood safe from people who wanted the last little bit of the superserum for whatever reason, and well, Steve's last memory of her was of Peggy in her nursing home room. But he was smart enough (for once) to not tell her exactly how she was going to die, Smart man, Rogers. It got him dates and kisses. But that didn't last long, as Peggy disappeared in April 2017, and Steve did not handle it well. He had a painting of her, half-finished when she poofed, and Steve had one of his employees, Anne-Marie Devoss, hide it to keep it safe.

That started the loss of friends, with a brief visit by Bucky, then he returned without memories of being there before much like Steve. Steve had the Avengers, but whoever was in charge of the islands began to send them home, leaving Steve with the Avengers compound, which had been a gift in November of 2016, and his gallery, and memories.

Living on the islands, Steve had time to think, and interact with people as Steve, not Captain America, something he didn't realize he wanted once he had taken the serum and something he needed as before the serum, he spent more time having to prove over and over again that he was worth knowing and interacting with. He was learning how to be a friend, and use his words before he used his fists before he woke up on a beach in Hawaii
